Shop Makeup For Warm Undertones Online

Undertones refer to the subtle natural colors beneath the actual skin’s color. It remains constant irrespective of how light or deep your skin tone is. A warm undertone is the natural color beneath your skin that gives it a golden, yellow, or olive tint. Warm-toned cosmetics generally range from yellow-based foundations to peachy blushes and gold-tinted highlighters.

How to Identify Warm Undertone?

Identifying your undertone simplifies the tedious process of buying makeup products and matching shades. This helps in picking up products that blend seamlessly into your skin tones without making you look ashy or chalky. Here are some of the simplest methods to detect your undertones.

The Jewelry Test:

Hold up both gold and silver jewellery against your face. If your gold jewelry complements your skin better than silver jewelry, you probably have a warm undertone. If your silver jewelry complements your skin better than gold jewelry, you have a cool undertone. If both suit you, you probably have a neutral undertone.

The Vein Test:

This test requires you to look at your wrist veins in natural light. If they seem more green than blue or purple, it indicates a warm undertone. You can also see how your skin responds to the sun; if you burn infrequently and tan readily, your undertone is probably warm. Bluish/purplish-looking veins indicate cool undertones, and if your veins are a mix of green and blue/purple, then you most likely have a neutral undertone.

How Does Your Undertone Play An Important Role In Makeup?

Undertones play an important role in how seamlessly your makeup blends into your face and accentuates your natural complexion. While your undertone—whether warm, cool, or neutral— helps you choose shades that look natural rather than dull or ashy, skin tone refers to the surface color and indicates how light or deep your skin is.

Base products like concealer, skin tint, and foundation dissolve into your skin when your makeup matches your undertone, creating a smooth canvas that looks like your natural skin, but better. Even the right shade match can appear odd if the undertone is incorrect. Cool-toned products may appear chalky or grey on someone with a warm undertone, but golden or yellow-based products will make your skin look more radiant.

Additionally, undertone influences how other cosmetics appear on your skin. Your natural warmth or coolness is enhanced by blush, lipstick, and highlighter tints that complement your undertone, giving you a more unified and attractive appearance. Conversely, mismatched tones can give makeup a disjointed or harsh appearance.

To put it simply, undertone is the foundation of shade matching in makeup; it guarantees that everything you apply seems balanced, organic, and refined.

FAQs

How do I choose my shade for skin tint?

Do use the filters above the shade swatches to narrow down choices based on your skin tone. Feel free to DM us here +91 8454097173 for shade recommendations.

Can this skin tint be used as a sunscreen—does it contain SPF?

While our skin tint does have broad-spectrum SPF 25+++, it cannot replace your normal sunscreen—it only gives you an additional layer of sun protection. This tint's main benefit is to leave your skin looking dewy and hydrated, while nourishing your skin with active ingredients like niacinamide and hyaluronic acid.

Is this concealer good for oily skin?

Our concealer is tested across all skin types and should not cause any allergies or breakouts. But we recommend doing a test patch before first use in any case.

Should I use my concealer first or my skin tint/foundation?

You can layer it as per your preference. For a more even base, you can apply a color corrector first, if you have prominent pigmentation/under-eye circles, followed by a concealer, and then apply a thin layer of skin tint/foundation. This helps create a clean and even base and reduces overall redness or minor discoloration. For added coverage, you can apply another layer of concealer over your skin tint, as needed.
